Uncle Kyle and Aunt Jessica bought Lexi this awesome toy that plays music, has a mirror, and lights up. It's probably Lexi's favorite toy right now! Just recently she's started trying to dance, which involves her bouncing on her butt. I love it! You'll notice how I had to stop the video because Oscar was in the process of knocking her over!

Jumping Jumperoo!
Lexi loves to jump up and down. We bought her a jumperoo but we don't have any doorways to put it in except in bedrooms or bathrooms! She's so serious when she jumps but she really does love it! Her feet crack me up too!

I bought Lexi this Cubs hat the other day and she just looks so stinkin cute in it! Brian said she looks like a tomboy but she's the cutest tomboy I've ever seen!

Mama!
Lexi finally said Mama tonight! I mentioned to the girls at daycare today that Lexi was constantly saying Dada and Miss Julie said she thought for sure that she'd heard Lexi say Mama. Sure enough, as we were getting her ready for bed tonight she said "Mama" three or four times. She was super tired so she was kind of whining when she said it but I was still so excited! I didn't get it on video but Brian was there as my witness :-)

Cooking with Mommy
I found these matching aprons at Target and I just couldn't resist buying them! Someday Lexi will be able to cook with me :-)
Squealer!
Here's a video of Lexi's current thing, which is squealing/screaming as loud as she possibly can. I haven't decided yet whether she's doing it for attention or just because she likes to hear the sound of her own voice! Probably a little of both! You might not want to turn the volume up too loud...it's pretty ear-piercing!

7 Month Update
So much has changed in the last month! Here's what Lexi has been up to this past month:
Rolling Over: Lexi finally rolled over from her tummy to her back and back to her tummy. Before she would only roll on to her side and then roll back. One night she finally decided to make it all the way over. It was all because we took her pants off! This little girl is so funny because once you take her pants off she is all happy! Apparently it helped her roll all the way over too!
Feeding herself her bottle: When Lexi was around 4 months old she would hold up her bottle for a few seconds. I thought she'd be holding it up on her own shortly after that but she never really did. Then a couple of weeks ago I gave it a try again and to my surprise she held it up all the way and knew how to tip her head back to get the last few drops from the bottle. Now we are able to prop her up in the Boppy and she feeds herself! We still have to keep an eye on her though because she gets lazy and will let the bottle fall. We've also noticed she doesn't usually finish her bottle when she feeds herself. I think she gets distracted. Plus she's eating more baby food now so I think she needs less milk. Here's a short video of her feeding herself.
"Da da" and other babblings: About a month ago Lexi starting saying "da da". I didn't want to admit it at first but now it's pretty obvious that's what she's saying. I try to get her to say 'mama' but everytime I try she just says "dada dada dada" as you can see from the video!
Standing but no crawling: Lexi is still not crawling yet. She definitely prefers to stand. We've been putting her on her tummy a lot more and she's getting so close to crawling but she just hasn't done it yet. She will move backwards on her tummy but she can't quite figure out how to move forward. She's very good at standing though and can hold herself up if she's leaning on something. Maybe she'll just go straight to walking! Here's a video of her standing up on her own (I couldn't figure out how to rotate the image!).
