33 Weeks

One more week down, 7 more to go. I had a sonogram yesterday and appointment with the doctor today. In the sonogram I was able to see Alexa and how she's positioned. I was pretty sure and the sonogram confirmed that she is head down and her butt is on the right side of my stomach with her legs on the left side. I knew this because my belly feels lopsided. I guess she takes after Mommy because her butt feels pretty big! One interesting thing from the sonogram is that the nurse said it looks like she's got a head full of hair. I guess somehow they can tell this! If only they could tell us the color! She weighs 3lbs 14oz right now and when I met with the doctor today she said that she's actually measuring a little small. They like babies to be in the 50th percentile, but Alexa's only in the 37th percentile, meaning 63% of babies measure larger than her at this stage. The doctor said not to worry for now and they will do another sonogram in 3 weeks to determine if she's made any growth progress. If she hasn't then they will be more concerned, but I'm not going to dwell on the what-ifs. If anything, she might just be a little baby, which hopefully means an easier delivery! I just can't believe we only have 48 more days until we meet our little girl. I haven't really reached the nervous stage yet, just pure excitement for now!

Our first baby shower

Yesterday was our first baby shower and it was a couples shower so both Brian and I got to join in the fun. Our good friends Abbey, Nina, and Lyndi were the wonderful hosts. They did such an amazing job! The decorations were awesome and Nina even made a diaper cake! We got so many great gifts too, including the pack n play. I put the pack n play together today and I love it! It's going to be so useful.








It's funny how our house is slowly transforming to accommodate this little girl! My project this weekend was transforming the guest bathroom into a fun, cheery bathroom for Alexa. I went with pink and orange as the colors and it turned out better than I even imagined! It's definitely a bathroom I would want as a little girl! Brian is overwhelmed by all the pink, but he's just going to have to get used to it!

My feet and ankles continue to swell and I am hating every minute of it! I love the warm weather, but I think it's making it worse! I am also probably a contributing factor since I can't seem to stay off my feet :-) I just have to keep telling myself only 7 1/2 more weeks of this!

32 Weeks

I have officially reached the 32 week mark today, which means this little girl will be arriving in 8 weeks or 56 days, but hopefully less! I can tell my belly is getting bigger and bigger everyday. My belly button has all but disappeared. It never did pop out, it's just gone! According to my book, Alexa is about 4 lbs and 19 inches now. Only a few more pounds to go! Yesterday I think I felt her hiccup for the first time and it made me laugh to think of her in there.

Brian and I went to childbirth education class last weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. I would definitely recommend going to this class and doing it all in one weekend. Before going we really didn't know what to expect of the delivery but now we are feeling much more confident. I have to say though that I could have done without the videos! The stuff the instructor talked about is nothing like how I imagined labor would be either. I won't give the graphic details :-) But as a result of the class I have decided no one other than Brian is allowed in that delivery room until that baby comes out!
